An exhibition of paintings inspired by flowers in my garden, my local area and my favourite places in Snowdonia.

In the last 22 years I have exhibited widely in the North of England and North Wales. I have taken part in Cheshire Open Studios and Helfa Gelf. I recently published a book about painting flowers in watercolour and was a featured artist in the Welsh Border Life magazine in February 2014.

I am a member of several Art Societies including the Wirral Society of Art and the Grosvenor Art Society, Chester. In 2006 I was awarded Membership of the British Watercolour Society.

I draw and paint regularly with the Eddisbury Artists here at Castle Park Arts Centre.

My work is mainly in watercolour or pen & watercolour. Drawing and painting are equally important to me. Combining the two techniques suits my inclination to draw and provides an underlying structure to the paintings which can be more loosely concluded with a limited palette of watercolour washes.

I am inspired by the natural world and all that grows. I paint mostly flowers and landscapes. The landscapes of North Wales having a particular significance as in recent years I have rediscovered my family connections with North Wales where my grandparents were born (myself and my mother were born in South Wales).

Some galleries where my work has been shown :- Royal Cambrian Academy, Conwy; Oriel Theatre Clwyd, Mold; Grosvenor Museum and Art Gallery, Chester; Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead; Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, Llanbedrog; Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham; Stockport Museum and Art Gallery, Stockport. The Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool.

Distant Horizons - North Wales 6

We are a group of artists all living in North Wales whose work is in some way influenced by the land and the sky. The artists range from established-mid-upcoming career artists. The work we hope to show ranges from the mountainous and colourful images of Malcolm JONES, to the paintings of glorious skies by Angie HOOPERT. The emotional abstract landscapes of Catherine TAYLOR PARRY. The free and experimental paintings by Helen TAYLOR and the beautifully gentle videos of Jenni Steele’s washing in the breeze. The group was brought together by Catherine and are having their initial group show at Theatre Clwyd in April 2017.

The Ginger Jar.

The Ginger Jar features the work of two Warrington-based artists; Helen Culleton and Sue Ellis. Working in a variety of mediums, and with differing styles and approaches to their work, both artists share a love of landscape and wildlife - which is reflected in their work. Together, they explore various ways of using textiles, embroidery, felting, drawing and painting to represent nature and how this subject inspires them to create.
